The Philosophy of Selfishness Related to Slavery

A common analysis amongst those whose only meaning in life is their own individual
preferences is often: The temporal existence of the individual and the exceptionally
minute length of individual existence, aswell as the limited necessarily self deluded
perception of all men cultivates a world where we can’t infer true meaning and thereby
should not actualize our tendencies on the basis of morality or collective decency but
instead to partake in any guidance of civilization should be done with the individual
and only the individual in mind. The philosophies that are often constructed on the
basis of these characterizations of mans’ time on this earth are the foundations of
apathy, contrarianism, and self interested egocentrism. Is it so shocking those who
are representatives of this cold, morally barren, endless pursuit of the self are
most often against the greatest representatives of collective virtuous existence,
which are the governing state and slavery? It is not, to have slavery you must
have collective concern and understanding. If one believes that life is just
a vessel for the immediate expression of will solely for the advantage of
the rationalizing individual, that will inevitably lead to the worsening
of civilization by any common metric of collective decency. A state of
self interested, sociopathic, manipulators constructing temporary power
structures led exclusively for the purposes of self gratification with
no quandary with corruption, bribery, or even the death of the
structure itself given the right self preferential incentives.

I concur we are temporal, all lack degrees of foresight, all mindlessly biased on the basis
of instinct, observed patterns, lived reality, and formative normalcy. All of which aid in
shaping our consciences, beliefs, and guiding our moral actions, however this should not be
an incentive to apathy or immediate self service above all other propositions, instead this
should be the truth that inspires all of those fitted within mankind to pursue the reigns of
power for collective, indefinite propriety. The name of Jesus Christ will one day be comparable
in prominence, meaning, and renown to the lone soldier who died in a failed war of conquest
millennia ago, the war itself forgotten. Thus is the inevitability of all men, all names, all
governments. These truths have strong bearing on the most micro focused layer of social and
biological order. They also have bearing on the macro but the reality of that is not calculable,
as we have not deduced infinity and the longevity of the ramifications of the human species.
Although all men are bound to obscurity and dismissal what of their codes of conduct, their
actions, their works? That single soldier has died and is now forgotten, never to be remembered
with any clarity or depth but in his death he represented a life of thousands of interactions,
a number of casualties, and a order he was representative of, although we do not know his
particular denomination, nor the lives he ended, or the patterns of his civic existence but
while we might not know his denomination we may know his faith, if we don’t know his faith
we may know his name, if we don’t know his name we may know his state, and finally if we don’t
know his state we know of his humanity and what is the recorded history of humanity if not the
toiler working away consciously or unconsciously under the yoke of the greatest affirmation and
continuation of slavery that is the state. All of the unique particulars don’t make up men nearly
as much as men make up these institutions and norms. All have incalculable meaning as man in
and of himself is not an individual, and a life in and of itself is not simply cognitive function,
breath, and instinctual existence. Instead all lives, all acts, all beliefs are sole parts of a
greater fabric of the already interwoven, and are destined to be facets of a yet uncultivated
future. Defined less by individuals than by creed, defined less by the creed than meaning. We
are not and can never be of ourselves for ourselves fully. Ultimately, who and what we are will
be written by those to come after and the writers of those tales will not be defined by who they
were, but instead by who they were judged to be and thus will be till humanity shall cease. Even
where our names are not present the spirit of our deeds shall be, to live is to define and to
define is to live. As to the notion of the subconscious partisan that is the individual man,
I concur but to summize that as a flaw is a misstep, there is no wrong in partisanship to virtue,
life like history is not defined by the truth. At the heart of how we interact with history it is
not truth instead it is manifest meaning, the same is true with all men. To manifest a destiny of
virtue is imperative in order to ensure the spirit of righteousness is your representative long
after your name has been totally forgotten. If it is true that all individuals define their own
moral code then all are the greatest moral representations of virtue that shall exist, and if all
lives are finite and nearly minute beyond conception relative to the whole, then every second is
an indescribably valuable opportunity to manifest “perfect” morality as best we can ascertain.
If you don’t live to pursue perfect virtue who will? Slavery works in tandem with this central
premise, the hierarchy of and subordination to higher meaning is what shall mandate all “natural
slaves” with minimal ability to cultivate or define parts of the greater being that is the whole.
This whole offers stability in order to ascertain obedience. Obedience within the whole is the
correct manner in which we should conceptualize ourselves. Slaves to the manifestations of what
is good and right, in starch contrast to the non-entities which make up the often severely short
sighted licentiousness minded “free man.” Freedom and liberation for mankind is not desirable. It
is the most undesirable precedent one could imagine. The unshackled free and liberated mind knows
no restraint and restraint is the key to propriety, free man really knows nothing of propriety besides
his own traditional moral dogma. If he can’t participate in his vice in one region then he’ll pervert
the next. The phrase “It’s coming to your doorstep” comes to mind. In a free society perversion will
be of your community, of your folk, or of your state, and if it cannot be then it will be next door.
This is the inevitability of free society, dependent upon millions, if not billions, of your fellow
mens’ circumstances, traditions, and beliefs to align with your own in order to secure somthing
vaguely resembling a “decent and free society.” Freedom grants disorganization, detachment,
disjointed, unprincipled selfishness, and ultimately obscurity, slavery is the coherent
emergence of collective will, collective meaning, and the triumph of greatness
through the sovereignty of the whole through the mandate of the one.
